Kenneth R. Rhoad is a partner in the firm's Baltimore office.  He has practiced for over 25 years and has extensive litigation expertise and transactional experience in the areas of creditor's rights, commercial civil litigation and insurance defense.

Mr. Rhoad represents major financial institutions and other creditors in matters involving complex commercial loan workouts, financial recovery and turnaround, commercial foreclosures, real estate, bankruptcy, lender liability and fraudulent conveyance litigation.

In the bankruptcy arena, he successfully represents creditors in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 cases and has extensive experience with contested relief from the automatic stay matters, negotiating complex cash collateral agreements and litigation involving sophisticated contested plans of reorganization.  He also has extensive experience negotiating, drafting and enforcing commercial loan forbearance and modification documentation.

Mr. Rhoad routinely presents lectures and client training seminars on emerging areas of law including bankruptcy, foreclosures, liquidations and recovery and the keys to successful turnaround and financial restructuring.  He proudly serves on the Maryland Attorney Grievance Commission Peer Review Committee which is tasked with helping to maintain attorney ethical standards and resolve ethical complaints filed against Maryland attorneys.

Mr. Rhoad is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts in the State of Maryland, the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Mr. Rhoad received his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Maryland in 1987.  He graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1991, with honors, where he was awarded membership in the Order of the Coif and received, among other awards for outstanding academic achievement, the Bridgewater M. Arnold Prize for excellence in the study of complex commercial law transactions.
