Melissa A. Dziak is a partner in our Scranton office.


Melissa A. Dziak is a partner in the firm's Scranton and Binghamton offices.  She handles complex litigation matters including FELA and railroad litigation, general liability, toxic tort, premises liability, professional liability and medical malpractice in state and federal courts throughout Pennsylvania, New York and Delaware.  She also currently oversees the firm's Railroad Practice Group.

Ms. Dziak has been responsible for primary case management of hundreds of cases defending claims from inception through to jury and non-jury trial.  She has defended many high-exposure personal injury and wrongful death actions including conducting hundreds of depositions of key fact and expert witnesses.

Prior to starting her civil litigation career, Ms. Dziak served for five years as an Assistant District Attorney in the District Attorney’s Office for Westchester County, New York, where she prosecuted up to 150 criminal cases at a time including over 25 non-jury and jury trials.  In addition, she drafted numerous appellate briefs on various aspects of criminal and constitutional law successfully arguing in the NYS Appellate Division.

Ms. Dziak attended LeMoyne College in Syracuse, New York, where she obtained her 1998 and subsequently attended Brooklyn Law School, earning her J.D.

She is admitted to practice in the states of New York and Pennsylvania and is admitted to practice in multiple U.S. District Courts including the Southern District of New York, Northern District of New York, Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Middle District of Pennsylvania.  She is a member of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel (NARTC), Federal Bar Association, New York Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, Lackawanna County Bar Association and Broome County Bar Association.
