Richard Bryan, Esquire, is a 1993 graduate of Stockton University, majoring in Business and Marketing.  He then went on to attend Widener University School of Law, in Wilmington, Delaware where he obtained his Juris Doctor degree in 1997. After law school, Mr. Bryan practiced for the next seventeen years as an associate and then partner in a respected AV-rated insurance defense litigation firm, before coming to Cipriani & Werner as a partner in 2014. 

Mr. Bryan has years of experience as a litigator in New Jersey's courtrooms,  handling a wide array of liability matters in both state and federal court through trial.  He also has extensive appellate experience arguing before the New Jersey Appellate Division.    

Mr. Bryan has expertise in complex general liability matters, including premises liability, product liability, employment law, construction litigation, industrial accident litigation and coverage/indemnification claims. He has successfully represented large retail, restaurant, hospitality and gaming industry clients in diverse complex matters throughout the state.  Mr. Bryan has also represented consumer product and industrial equipment manufacturers in claims of design and/or manufacturing defects in both State and Federal Court.    

Mr. Bryan represents employers in New Jersey workplace discrimination matters, having represented companies in both State and Federal Court, as well as the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights in claims arising under the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination and the New Jersey Conscientious Employee Protection Act.  In these matters, Mr. Bryan defends claims alleging sexual harassment, employment discrimination and retaliatory discharge.

Mr. Bryan also has experience in defending municipalities under the New Jersey Tort Claims Act in claims against public entities for alleged dangerous conditions of public property, injuries to non-employee personnel, negligent supervision at schools and injuries caused by police officers/public employees.   

Mr. Bryan is a member of the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and all New Jersey State Courts. He  is a member of the Camden County Bar Association and the New Jersey Defense Association, of which he was a past Vice President and a former Director.  He also serves as a court appointed arbitrator in Burlington County, New Jersey in civil matters.

Mr. Bryan is a lifelong resident of southern New Jersey where he currently resides with his family.
